Joshua Blake Carter

Joshua Blake Carter. Since 2010, Joshua has been a company member of Giordano Dance Chicago, the original American jazz dance company. He now serves as Operations Manager at Giordano, and also serves as the Director to GDC’s second company, Giordano II. His choreography has earned him the honor of being selected as the winner of Ballet Nouveau Colorado’s national choreography competition, dancemakers2.0, in 2009, and in the spring of 2013, he was one of six winners commissioned to create a new work for DanceWorks Chicago’s DanceMoves choreography competition. In 2013, Joshua was awarded the Producers’ Panel Prize by The Ruth Page Foundation for his work, “Ripen,” as part of Dance Chance: Redux 5.0. Other commissions include: Giordano II, Missouri Contemporary Ballet, Nomi Dance Company, Artifact Dance Project, and Glendale Community College (Artist in Residence 2012).
